Marcia (Bryant) Holt, 94 years of age, of West Hartford, CT., died on October 24. Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Letchworth Bryant of Providence, R.I. She was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She earned a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.S. in Nursing Education from the University of California San Francisco.
She taught nursing at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Boston University, School of Nursing.
Married in 1967 to the late CDR Robert Holt, USN., of Seattle, Washington. They lived in Norfolk, VA and Glastonbury CT, where she worked in the Infirmary of Wesleyan University for ten years. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Westport Harbor, MA., and traveled widely until his death, when she joined her family in West Hartford.
She was a communicant of Christ and St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Norfolk, VA., St. James Episcopal Church in Glastonbury, CT., and St. Andrews By-The-Sea in Little Compton, R.I. She served on the Alter Guild in each of them.
Marcia was a past member of the Handicraft Club, The Pottery and Porcelain Club, The Providence Art Club, The Acoaxet Country Club in Westport, MA., as well as The Elephant Rock Beach Club.She also served as a docent at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum in Providence, as well as being a Member of the DAR, Eunice Cobb Stocking Chapter in Glastonbury.
Marcia leaves her daughter Susan, and son-in-law David Cukierman of West Hartford, CT., and two beloved grandchildren, Nathan Bryant and Skylar Barnum.
Burial at The Brownell Cemetery in Little Compton, R.I., will be private.
