Auburn — Susan Monica (Katinas) Mathews, 53, of Auburn - a wonderful, loving wife and mother passed away on Tuesday, October 24th 2023, after an illness.
Susan was born on November 11th, 1969 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Paul and Helen (Brock) Katinas.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester State University and worked as a teaching aid throughout Auburn Public Schools. Susan loved to serve those around her, always providing food and entertainment for her family and friends. She enjoyed being active, exercising and playing sports. She loved to attend her children’s soccer, basketball, and ice hockey games. She loved the outdoors, especially being at the beach in Ocean Park, Maine.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Mr. Franklin Mathews, her three children, Ty, Olivia and Julia Mathews, all of Auburn; her mother, Helen (Brock) Katinas of Worcester; her brother Paul Katinas and wife Linda of Worcester; her brother Francis Katinas and wife Pamela of Auburn; her brother Stephen Katinas and wife Jamie of Sutton; her sister Patricia O’Leary and husband Michael of Millbury; and her sister Diane Brown and her husband Michael of Worcester; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Paul Katinas, and sister, Pamela (Katinas) Johnson both of Worcester.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 30th at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr, Auburn, MA at 11 AM.
