Edward A. Hunt passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 88 yrs due to prostate cancer and other illnesses. Ed was born on December 5, 1934 to Albert and Beulah Hunt in Pismo Beach, California. He went on to spend his youth and high school years in Santa Barbara, California, graduating from SB High Class of 1953. Ed bought his dream home in the Ojai Valley in 1963 and, at his request, spent his last days there; quite the 60 year run, Dad!
Ed went on to be a well respected contractor, not only here in Ojai, but all over Ventura County. During this time, he mentored and taught so many men how to be successful, strong, reliable, and compassionate at their craft. The thing Dad valued most beyond work was his family and his wife of 43 years, Donna Hunt. The love and compassion they have for each other is like no other. They both set the bar high, leading and teaching us all by example to be kind, loving, and supportive to all of our family, friends, and humankind.
Ed was an avid sports fan and supported Nordhoff Football for well over 40 years. Ed and Donna went to all home games and many away games into their 80's. Dad also loved Dodgers' Baseball, Lakers' Basketball, and Miami Dolphins' Football.
Ed is survived by his wife, Donna; his sons: Greg (Tracy), Steve (Sarita), David (Vicki), Mark (Tracy), Richard, and Jesus; his daughter, Kristin; his grandchildren: Kyle (Jessie), Amy, Jordan, Murphy, Nicholas, and Albert; and his great-grandchildren: Carson and Walker.
Dad, you will be deeply missed by all of us, but never forgotten! Ed's favorite quote: "I love it when a plan comes together."
The family will set a service date in the future.
