Dianna Lynn (Barrett) McCord, 75, of Anderson passed away on October 20, 2023 at Community Hospital following an extended illness.
Dianna was born on December 20, 1947 to her late parents, Eugene Douglas and Phyllis (Skirvin) Barrett. She was a high school graduate of Anderson High School and was considered as the “Matriarch” of her family.
Dianna married her late husband, Jerry Lee McCord, on December 17, 1982. They shared their passion for horses. Together they owned several Thoroughbred race horses and enjoyed traveling from state to state to different tracks where their horses received many awards.
Dianna is survived by her two daughters, Nichole (Rodney) Riall and Michelle Krieg; grandson and caretaker, Koty Riall and his son, Kolin; additional grandkids include, Kiley Riall, Daniel, Deric, Drake Ball, and Parker Smith; several great-grandkids; two step kids, Shane and Kelly McCord; special friend, Penny Bristow; two siblings, Doug Barrett and Becky (Doug) Shive; two close nieces that she enjoyed special times with, Tracy Shirley and Danyette O’Sullivan; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Lee McCord; two siblings, Jeffrey “Jeff” Barrett and Ginger Goettman; and a nephew, Dustin Goettman.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date once it is planned by her family.
