Dominic Joseph Svizzero, 86, of Hanson, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday October 23, 2023. He was the beloved husband to Carol (Treptow) (Woodward) Svizzero.
Born on August 22, 1937 in Quincy, MA, son of the late Romeo and Bambina (Gentile) Svizzero.
Dominic graduated Suma Cum Laude from Johnson and Wales College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and married the “love of his life” Carol (Treptow) (Woodward) Svizzero on November 27, 1987.
Dominic had served in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 ½ years of active duty as a Senior Master Sargent. He was a Vietnam Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. He had served in many military installations throughout the United States and overseas.
He later retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Brockton District Court, and the Foxboro Company as a Quality Control Engineer. He had also served as an active Plymouth County Deputy Sheriff for over 20 years, as well as had his own successful tax business.
In addition to his loving wife Carol, he is survived by his daughters Theresa (Svizzero) Silva of Bridgewater, and Tammy (Svizzero) Toppen of Bridgewater, his stepson Max Woodward and his wife Lan of Hanson and his brother Almondo Svizzero. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Colby Woodward, Robert Dodge, Ashley Silva, Jessica Svizzero, and his great-grandchild Amelia Azul.
He is predeceased by his two sons Michael and Mark Svizzero, as well as his grandchildren, Jonathan Silva and Christine Svizzero, and his brother Antonio Svizzero.
Family and friends are invited to attend Dominic’s visiting hours Sunday October 29, from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. His funeral service will be held on Monday October 30, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel, with a burial to follow at the St. James Cemetery, Whitman.
