Lois Rehberg Freeman, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died 10/04/2023 at the home of her daughter in Newnan, Georgia. Lois was born August 25, 1926, in Ocklocknee, GA to the late Eugene and Harmon Rehberg.
After graduating from high school in Ocklocknee she attended business school in Albany, GA. While working in Albany she met her husband, Jimmy. They married in 1950 and relocated to Fitzgerald in 1959. In 1963 she became the Pastor's secretary at First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald where she served faithfully for forty-four years.
Lois was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald where she sang in the choir. She had a life-long love of gardening and was a member of the Fitzgerald Garden Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Libby (John) Bermingham and Nancy Freeman both of Newnan as well as three grandsons - Ryan Bermingham of Newnan, Dr. Brent Bermingham of Augusta, and Justin Bermingham of Newnan. She is also survived by a niece, Diane Rehberg of Norman Park, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Freeman and seven brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Henry Tyson officiating. Interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the Susan G. Kolen Breast Foundation.
