Linda S. Kelley, age 72, of Somerset, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Born in Attleboro, MA 0n March 3, 1951, she was a loving daughter of the late J. Spencer, Jr. and Anita S. (Sheehan) Kelley.
Linda grew up in Mansfield and was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield High School. She continued her studies, graduating in 1973 from Stonehill College and later received her Master’s Degree in Education.
A retired schoolteacher, Linda was an educator, a job she deeply loved, for many years and at the time of her retirement had taught at the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Linda was always happiest when in the presence of her adoring family, especially her granddaughters. She was also an avid reader and had a special place in her heart for classic rock music.
She is survived by her devoted sons: Kevin R. King and his wife Leanne of North Attleboro, Brian P. King and his longtime girlfriend Erin of Coventry, RI and Sean M. King of Pawtucket, R.I. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of Aubrey E. King and Katelyn N. King. She was the dear sister of John S. Kelley, II and his wife Carol of Mashpee and is also survived by her loving aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
