Maria Lidia Narciso of Taunton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 23, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of Jose B. Narciso with whom she shared 70 + years of marriage. Maria is survived by her children; Horacio (John) Narciso and his wife Donna of Bridgewater, Luis Narciso of Raynham, Lydia Harrington and her husband Russell of Virginia, Carlos Narciso and his wife Lauren of Freetown, Zelia Narciso of Taunton, Paul Narciso and his wife Julianne of East Bridgewater, Ana Robertson, and her husband Michael of Raynham. Maria was preceded in death by her son Jose Manuel Narciso of and survived by his wife Isabel Narciso of Taunton.
She was the proud grandmother to 22 and the great-grandmother of 20 as well as the aunt of many nephews and nieces.
She is survived by her siblings; Maria da Conceicao Narciso Tavares of Taunton, Laudalina Narciso Mello of Fall River, Jose Narciso of Taunton, and John C. Narciso of Taunton. She was preceded in death by her late brothers, Manuel Narciso of Taunton, and Eduardo Narciso of Taunton.
She was born in St. Miguel Azores, Portugal the daughter of the late Jose Narciso and Luiza Aguiar Narciso. She moved to Taunton in 1969, lived in Raynham for 30+ years before moving back to Taunton. She had worked previously at Lucey Shoes in Bridgewater as well as Rennie Curtain and Swanks in Taunton.
Maria’s greatest love in life was her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed word searches, cooking, tending her flower garden and baking for her family and was especially known for her sweet bread and fried dough. She will long be remembered for her exceptional kindness, compassion, and selflessness.
Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, October 27th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church in Taunton at 10 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
