Rebecca Blanchard, born on September 10, 1940, peacefully passed away, surrounded by family on October 18, 2023, at the age of eighty-three. She was a beloved wife and mother, and her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Born in Manchester, NH, Rebecca was the daughter of Randall and Thelma Kean, who instilled in her a love for art and a passion for creating beauty. She pursued her artistic talents diligently and became a renowned portrait artist and highly respected Art Consultant. Her exceptional skill in capturing the personality of her subjects made her much sought after, and her portraits and landscapes grace the walls of many homes as well as esteemed boardrooms.
Beyond her successful career, Rebecca found solace and inspiration in the wonders of nature. She delighted in the tranquility and beauty of wilderness camping and translated these experiences into her wonderful landscape canvases. Her love for nature extended to her own garden, cultivating unique landscapes, and nurturing stunning Bonsai trees. Her devotion and expertise in this art form were extraordinary, and several of her cherished Bonsai trees have thrived under her care for over four decades.
Rebecca's summers spent on their small island in Maine held a special place in her heart. It was there that she found solace and created cherished memories with her loved ones.
Rebecca will be forever remembered and dearly missed by her husband, Steven, and her children, James Hawko, Kenneth Hawko, and Dale Hawko-Lieblich. She was a loving sister to Susan Muse and Mona Lane and a devoted grandmother to Tori, Jourdan, Alix, Kimberly, Trevor, Jason, Austin, and two recent great grandchildren Ellie and Jolie.
In honor of Rebecca's remarkable life, a gathering of cherished family and dear friends will be held at a near future date to celebrate her legacy. The Casper Funeral Home, located in Boston, MA, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Rebecca Blanchard's passion for art, her love of nature, and her unwavering dedication to family will forever be commemorated. Her kindness, talent, and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to us all.
