Mary “Annette” Foreman Wetherington, 90, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Harborview Nursing Home in Tifton. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. Wetherington at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Todd Garner officiated.
Born April 2, 1933, in Norman Park, Mrs. Wetherington was the daughter of the late Homer D. Foreman, Sr. and Jewell Clifton Foreman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Major Bernard Wetherington, Sr.; three brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Lenox, were she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class, Young At Heart, WMU and she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Lenox Community Club. Her joy was her children and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Wetherington is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bernard L. Jr. and Mary Ellen Wetherington of Tifton and Brett F. Wetherington of Colorado; two daughters and one son-in-law, Caryl W. and Albert Coburn and Cheryl Young, all of Tifton; a son-in-law, Larry Young and his family, all of Tifton; five grandchildren, Jay Young, Andrew C. Young, Ivey Cal Wetherington, Levy Knight and Kelli Anne Coburn; and four great-grandchildren, Rylee Wetherington, Mia Wetherington, Addie Russell and Evan Russell.
