Terry Glynn Smith rested from a lifetime of service on October 20, 2023. Terry’s friendship with Jesus strengthened him as a devoted husband to Lisa, a proud father to Josh, and a servant-hearted volunteer for many ministries throughout his life.
Born in Jackson, Tennessee to Lyman and Anne, Terry grew up enjoying the outdoors with his twin Gary, brother Mike, and sister Christy. Terry met Lisa during grad school at Vanderbilt before beginning a career in commercial real estate. After a brief but blessed time in Texas, Terry and his family moved to New Hampshire where he found over three decades of joy and friendship. Terry served at church, Habitat for Humanity, Makeover Ministry, Helping Hands Outreach Ministries, and beyond. He was a patient mentor and a passionate leader.
Terry’s persistent search for a diagnosis finally received a definitive answer (amyloid disease) just months before God replaced his ailing body with an imperishable one. Terry’s friends remember him as a wise man of character, forbearance, and faith. Naomi, Terry’s granddaughter, remembers him as kind and loving. Terry’s daughter-in-law Rebekah remembers his authentic compliments, eye for beauty, thoughtful generosity, and encouragement. Terry gave Josh a love for words and a model for fatherhood. And Lisa remembers Terry’s unyielding love and devotion.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 5 - 7 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Wednesday October 25th at 10:00am at Orchard Christian Fellowship, Pillsbury Road, Londonderry.
