Peter F. Sarantos
Retired AFA Alarm Installer
TEWKSBURY: Peter F. Sarantos (Sarantopoulos), age 81, a resident of Tewksbury for 53 years, formerly of Watertown and Brighton, passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on Monday evening, October 16, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Edith F. (Chase) with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2023.
Born in Boston on March 29, 1942, he was the son of the late Frank Sarantopoulos and the late Ann (Sheampos) Sarantos.
Peter was raised in the Brighton section of Boston and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as an installer for AFA Alarm Company in Boston for 37 years.
Peter was a life member of the Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club, where he enjoyed target shooting and competed as a member of the pistol team.
He enjoyed playing games of chance, visiting area casinos and the companionship of his dog “Sonny”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four daughters, Debra Hanson, Linda Sarantos, Suzanne Sarantos and Gayle Sarantos: his grandchildren, Kayla Hanson, David Hanson, Jacob Sarantos, and Hannah Squibb: his sons-in-law, David Hanson, Ted Taker and Frank Squibb. He was the brother of William Sarantopoulos and his wife Eileen, the late Christopher Sarantos and Charles Sarantopoulos. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 24th, from 4-7 p.m., with prayers to be offered at 6:30 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury.
