Laura Maria Carlson was born June 1, 1942 and passed away suddenly of a cardiac arrest at the age of 81 on October 12, 2023.
Born to Carl Hilmer Carlson and Alice Victoria Carlson, Laura was the third of seven children. She and her siblings, Carl, Robert, Albert, Linda, Douglas, and Ellen kept the household lively growing up in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
She married Roberto Fabiano and had one son, Alfred.
Laura remained in the the area her entire life. Residing in Chelsea throughout her later years, she was known to many in the neighborhood as a collector of nick-nacks and was as generous as could be to others. A life-long walker, she walked daily to her favorite McDonalds and CVS, even while relying on her walker, until she could no longer climb a step. She spent her last year and a half residing at AdviniaCare Eastpoint in Chelsea, enjoying the daily hot chocolate and other treats to satisfy her sweet tooth.
Laura is survived by her younger brothers Albert and Douglas, Albert’s wife Mary, Ellen’s widower Chuck, and a myriad of nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.
Laura’s remains will be interred privately next to her parents and son. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Laura’s memory to a charity of your choice. If you’re not sure which charity, the Boys and Girls Club was an important part of the Carlson children’s childhood and their Charlestown neighborhood.
