Martha L. Grabke, 81, of Braintree, MA, died October 18, 2023. She loved her family, music and her Lord Jesus Christ. She was born in Detroit, MI, May 28, 1942. Martha graduated from the Detroit Music Conservatory. She was married to Rev. Ronald Grabke. After her marriage, Martha and Ron moved to California where Ron was pastor of a church in Jackson, CA. After a few years, they answered the call to become missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene in Mexico and Argentina. After returning to the states, later Martha became the bursar at Eastern Nazarene College. She was also a music director/organist at several churches, including Braintree Baptist and Boylston Congregational Church. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Norene (Crawford) Schmidt; her husband, Rev. Ronald Grabke; and her daughter, Rachel Hallenbeck. She is survived by her brother, Robert Schmidt and wife, Elaine; step-brother, Stephen Schmidt and wife, Claire; son, Ronald Grabke and wife, Cynthia; granddaughters, Kirsten Oberoi and husband, Krishan, and Brianna Ruth; grandson, Ronald Grabke; nephews, Robert Schmidt and wife, Mary Kay, and Richard Schmidt and wife, Sandy; great grandsons, Chase and Cooper Kamienski; and many grand nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24 at Boylston Congregational Church 207 Amory St in Jamaica Plain. A service will follow at noon and her interment will be at the Forest Hills Cemetery.
