Mary (Ramos) Konstantakos, 84, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was the wife of the late Demetrios Konstantakos.
Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Albert and Sophie (Galus) Ramos, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mary was a very kind and loving person who devoted her life to caring for others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren enjoyed sharing in their accomplishments. Mary was very compassionate in her love of animals, and could never say no to an animal in need of a home. She worked as a cafeteria worker for many years in the Phillips Ave. school and at Ronnie's Manufacturing as a seamstress.
Mary is survived by her daughter Jaime and her husband Chris Santos, of New Bedford; her grandchildren Christopher and Alyssa Santos; Deana Santos, and Brian Konstantakos; and two great-grandchildren, Ayden Lopes, and Brian Konstantakos, Jr; and her siblings, Alberta Strand, Robert Ramos, and Theresa Duvernay; and her son-in-law Alan Bowen.
She is predeceased by her husband Demetrios; her daughter Marianne Konstantakos; and her siblings Albert Ramos and Richard Ramos.
Mary is now with the love of her life Jim, where they will forever be in each other's arms.
Mary's funeral service will be held at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd, Dartmouth, MA on Tuesday, October 24th at 10 AM. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, October 23rd from 4pm-8pm at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, MA.
