BORTONE, Emma (Panella) of Dedham, born in Fondi, Italy, Age 82, October 17, 2023. Devoted wife of Clino Bortone. Loving mother of Rocco Bortone of Oakham, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Bortone of Bellingham and Maria (Bortone) Brewer and her husband Stephen Brewer of Norwood. Adored Nonna of Clino Daniel Bortone, William Bortone, David Brewer, Nicholas Brewer, and Joshua Brewer.
She was a friend to everyone and considered everyone family. She will be tremendously missed by each person in her life. She loved every child, especially her grandsons and grandpups.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Emma took joy in making a "little" something to eat for anyone who stopped by. You soon learned that saying "but I'm not hungry" would cause her to roll her eyes and then force you to eat and take home the leftovers.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 4-7pm. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 23 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Entombment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
