Dorothy L. “Dottie” (Molinari) Donehey passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Monday, October 16th at the Winchester Hospital. She was 85. Born in Medford, Dottie was the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Dorothy E. (Keenan) Molinari.
Dottie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a proud life-long Medford resident who enjoyed being with her family and spending time with her neighbors and friends. Anyone was welcome at her home and everyone felt loved enough to call her “Auntie”. For nearly 40 years Dottie worked at City Hall and served in the office of the City Clerk. She became Assistant City Clerk and served as Acting City Clerk from time to time. In an office where most people dropped by first when visiting City Hall, Dottie was a wealth of information and wisdom, able to render advice or direct people to the department best suited to serve them. At the untimely passing of her sister Joan, Dottie helped raise her niece and nephews with her boundless generosity and selfless love.
The beloved wife of Frederick W. Donehey, Sr., Dottie was a devoted mother to Fred Donehey, Jr. and his wife Michele, and Dennis Donehey and his wife Jennifer, all of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Michael, Ava, Harper and Henley. She was a dear sister of the late Joan Gagliardi and loving aunt to Joan “Babe” Limone and her husband Paul, Jake Gagliardi, and the late Johnny and Joe Gagliardi. Dottie leaves many other nieces and nephews who were special to her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday morning, October 21st from 8:30 – 10:30 followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM.
