Obituary

Sante Joseph Fava, age 95, of Winchester, passed away on October 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy (DiVasta) Fava and longtime dear companion of the late Helen King.

Born in Somerville, Sante was the son of the late Anselmo and Paolina Fava. He was raised and educated in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. His father died at a young age, and, as the eldest son, he helped to take care of his family. He went to work for Closure Company in Charlestown, which specialized in the manufacturing of windows, doors and shower enclosures. The company relocated to Woburn and Sante became the Operations Manager. It was in this capacity, working with vendors and customers, that he made many lifelong friends. In retirement, Sante and his business partner, Steve Jovellas, opened their own company, Brunswick Enclosure, in Billerica, where they remained in business for many years.

In his spare time, Sante traveled the world, and had visited over 20 countries. He also loved to dance, dine out and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed “dinner and cards” nights, where poker was the game of choice. Above all, Sante cherished time with his family, especially Sunday dinners and holidays. He will be remembered for his extraordinary wisdom.

Sante is lovingly survived by his four daughters: Janice Provenzano and her husband Michael, of Billerica, Nancy Cullen and her husband Mark, of Reading, Denise Fava of Danbury, CT, and Debra Ingemi and her husband Robert, of Wareham. He was the devoted “Papa” of Amy and Jamie Doughty, Michael and Heather Provenzano, Matthew and John Cincotta, Nathaniel Coupet, Isabella Coupet, Christina Ingemi and Yasmeen Luna, Nina and John Bumpus, Benjamin Ingemi and Alyssa Aguiar. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Evan and Brendon Doughty, Abigail and Emily Provenzano, Gianna Cincotta, Jason and Addison Bumpus. He was the dear brother of Carmen McNeill of Burlington, and the late Anthony Fava and Adelma D’Ambrosio. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
