Joan Katherine (Sweeney) Dragone, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. She was born in Boston to the late John and Dorothy (Burroughs) Sweeney.
Joan was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Belliveau and her nephew Michael Murphy.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Dragone, her son Charles Fitzgerald and his wife Manassaneeya and their son Charles (CJ), her daughter Denise Fitzgerald Hutchins and her wife Donna Hutchins, her sister Barbara Mirabito of Texas and her sister Madeline Leblanc of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joan loved to dance, listen to live music, her love for hummingbirds, cooking and spend time with her family, especially after the birth of her grandson.
Her family was her heart, pride and joy and she only wanted everyone to be happy. She never ended a conversation without saying I love you; you never left her home without a big hug and an “I love you.” She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by her friends and family.

A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street, Brockton on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 12-3 pm.
