Clara Neuvia Jean-Philippe, 94, died peacefully in Brockton, Massachusetts on October 13, 2023.
She was born in Terre Neuve, Haiti on May 10, 1929 to Fortune Jean-Philippe and Eltide Jean. Clara worked tirelessly as an entrepreneur in Gonaives, Haiti to provide better opportunities for her children. She immigrated to the United States in 1984 to continue caring for her family. Clara most enjoyed walking, preparing meals and spending time with friends and family.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents Fortune Jean-Philippe and Eltide Jean, her son Aspil Jean, her sister Julie Sylvestre, and her grandson Fitz Michael Jean. She is survived by her four children, Raphaelita Gauthier, Elsie Jean Louis, James Sylvestre and his wife Michaelle Sylvestre; Murat Jean and his wife Marielle Jean; thirteen of her grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Viewing hour will be on Saturday October 28, 2023 from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Religious Service from 9:30-11 AM in the Tabernacle Congregation Baptist Church, 575 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, 500 Canterbury Street, Roslindale, MA.
