Maria N. (Sousa) Sousa, 80, of Westport, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Manuel A. Sousa, they shared 53 years of marriage.
Mrs. Sousa was born in Madeira Portugal, daughter of the late Jordao N. and Joaquina N. (DeFreitas) Sousa had been a resident of Westport since 1963. She had worked as a sewing machine operator and later worked with her husband in their business Sousa Masonry, Westport. Mrs. Sousa was an avid gardener and a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Survivors include her sister: Conceicao N. Medeiros and her husband Michael of Fall River; her brother: Jordao S. DeSousa of NH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Michael Sousa and sister of the late Manuel N. Sousa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Saturday, October 21, 2023 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
