Obituary

In Loving Memory of Phyllis May (Allen) Walsh October 19, 1926 - October 12, 2023.

Phyllis May Walsh, a beloved resident of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, at the age of 96, at the Nemasket Nursing Home in Middleboro, Massachusetts.

Born on October 19, 1926, in East Bridgewater, Phyllis was the cherished daughter of Horatio Allen and Alice (Allen) Gowell. She was a loving sister to her late siblings and their spouses: Robert Allen (Mariam), Silvia Lawson (Harry), Donald Allen (Nan), and Raymond Allen (Madeline).

Phyllis was married to the late Normal L. Brock and later to the late Charles Walsh. She was a devoted mother to her late son Alan Morgan (Partner Eileen Mazzeo), late daughter Debra Tougas (son-in-law Bob Tougas), Kathy Brood (son-in-law Scott Brood), Brian Brock (fiancé Margaret Crowninshield), and Heidi Tamarkin.

Phyllis was a proud grandmother to Brett Morgan, Pam Martins, Hollie (Rene) Pepin, Jessica Tougas, Becky (Chris) Postma, Stacy Grey, Josh (Katie) Brood, and Alora (Rob) Clemens. Her family continued to grow, as she became a great-grandmother to Madison Morgan, Christopher Martins, Arlicia Martins, Mickayla (TJ) Kidd, Josilyn (Trey) Barbazon, Meradeth Elliott, Olivia Hatton, Joshua Postma, Emily (Scott) Peterson, Trenton Postma, Nolan Grey, Nora Grey, Josiah Brood, Ezra Brood, Maggie Brood, and Aiden Clemens.

Phyllis found great joy in becoming a great-great-grandmother to Chaselynn Rose Kidd and Houston Thomas Kidd, and June Peterson.

Phyllis was very close to her many Nieces and Nephews.

Phyllis was a skilled and dedicated solderer, working for many years at Raytheon and later for several smaller local companies, including working for Paul Carlson. She was a hardworking individual who took pride in her work.

Throughout her long and fulfilling life, Phyllis remained a steadfast resident of East Bridgewater, residing in the Beaver Section before moving to Union Street and eventually making her home at East Bridgewater Housing for the Elderly.

One of Phyllis's greatest passions was her love for cars. From her Barracuda to the iconic Red Volkswagen fondly referred to as the "Tomato Bug" and, finally, her beloved Red Honda Coupe, which she humorously referred to as her "Race Car," Phyllis had a deep affection for her automobiles, and she enjoyed every moment behind the wheel.

Phyllis's legacy is one of love, family, and a zest for life. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a treasure trove of memories that will be held close to the hearts of her loved ones.

Phyllis May (Allen) Walsh has left this world, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love.

Rest in peace, dear Phyllis, and may your journey into eternity be as bright and colorful as the cars you cherished so dearly.
