Obituary

Joanne Mary (Fish) Kenny of Andover passed away peacefully on her 80th birthday on Friday, October 13th. Born in Laredo, Texas, Joanne was the daughter of the late Joseph N. Fish and Jessie M. (Warren) Fish. Joanne attended Boston Latin and Holy Cross High School. She continued her education at Framingham State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition, Secondary Education with a minor in Chemistry in 1965. Upon graduation, she obtained an internship with Stouffer’s and was employed as a home economics teacher in the Boston School System. She married her husband of 55 years, Paul L. Kenny, in August of 1968 and they lived in Dorchester and Medford before settling in Andover, MA for the past 49 years where they raised eleven children.

Joanne was the beloved wife of Paul L. Kenny. She was a devoted mother and survived by her eleven children - Barbara and her husband Brendan Cranna, Paul L. Kenny, Jr., Jeanne Trotter and her husband Daniel, Robert Kenny and his wife Jennifer, Daniel Kenny and his wife Lauren, Julie Green and her husband Aaron, Dennis Kenny and his wife Suzy, Michael Kenny and his wife Emily, Mark Kenny and his wife Nicole, Brian Kenny and his wife Ashley, and Meaghan Fairbanks and her husband Matthew. Joanne was a loving grandmother to her 28 grandchildren - Ryan, Sean, Austin and Liam Cranna, Jake and Isabelle Kenny, Kailee, Leah and Connor Trotter, Robert Jr., Sean and Lindsay Kenny, Dylan Kenny, Samuel, Sara and Simon Green, Madeline and Claire Kenny, Cora, Elliot and Owen Kenny, Declan Kenny, Lily Kelleher, Molly, Natalie and Andrew Kenny, and Cameron and Riley Fairbanks. Joanne was the dear sister of Arlene Camelio and her late husband William, Paula Cronin, Barbara Reagan, Joseph “Nicky” Fish, III and his wife Nancy, Warren Fish and his wife Suzanne, Brian Fish and his wife Rebecca, John Fish, Janet Fish and the late Mary Fish.

Joanne was the kindest, most selfless person you would ever meet. She loved caring for her family and others. A place at her table was always open to anyone at any time. She loved her summers on Cape Cod, a good book and a challenging puzzle. Joanne touched so many lives and will be forever remembered for her generous spirit.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 18th from 4 through 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home on Thursday, October 19th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St., Andover, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Augustine’s Parish, 43 Essex St., Andover, MA 01810.
