Bernice (Pothier) Carpenter, age 92, passed away peacefully in her home on October 11, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1931 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Henry Joseph Pothier and Margaret Hough. Bernice worked as a lunch lady for John Ashley School in West Springfield for many years before she retired. She was a den mother for her sons cub scouts in Chicopee in the 60’s. She loved being surrounded by her friends and family. She was always proud of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren ‘s accomplishments. Bernice is predeceased by her husband Robert Carpenter who passed away in 2000. She is also predeceased by her son Gary Carpenter, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sons Robert Carpenter and his daughter Sarah Carpenter of Chicopee; Daniel Carpenter of North Adams and Wayne Carpenter and his wife Marisa of Chicopee; 1 brother Mitchell Vincent of FL; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.
