Robert "Bob" R. Labrecque, 82, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on October 11 following a long illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Linda (Lewis) Labrecque. He was the son of the late Silvio and Cecile (Beauregard) Labrecque. Bob was born in Woonsocket but lived the majority of his life in North Smithfield where he enjoyed working in his yard and on his pool.
Bob worked for General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1989. He also worked for Lowe’s and Home Depot.
Bob was happiest when he was with his family. He was a member of the Chevy Owners of Rhode Island Association and looked forward to showing his 1987 Chevy El Camino every June at their annual car show at Diamond Hill in Cumberland, RI
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Wayne Labrecque, of Ellington, CT and Kimberly Alves and her husband, Ray Pendergast, of North Smithfield and the light of his life, his two loving grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey Alves of North Smithfield. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline and her husband, Leo Albin, of Northbridge, MA. He is pre-deceased by his brothers Lucien and Michael. He also leaves his faithful companion, Bandit.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Winfield funeral home Route 44 Greenville Commons, Greenville, Rhode Island. Visiting hours will be 4 to 6:45 on Thursday October 26, 2023. There will be a prayer service starting at 6:45. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
