PORTER- Faye P. Barton, age 85, passed away on October 12, 2023, after a courageous battle with dementia.
She was born in Portland, Maine on February 19, 1938, daughter of the late Lawrence and Phyllis (Tarbox) Libby.
Faye attended Porter High School but left for the workforce before graduating. She returned to school in her 60’s and obtained her GED.
Faye was married to her husband of 48 years, Fredrick Barton.
Faye worked in several factories for shoe and furniture manufacturing. She retired from a shoe shop followed by the Yield House and Eastland Shoe.
Faye enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents- Lawrence and Phyllis (Tarbox) Libby; her sons- Harold, Michael and Mark Brooks; her daughters- Phyllis Jane, and Mary Ann Brooks; her brothers- Leslie Libby, Russell Libby, and Larry Libby; her sister- Esther Libby; a nephew- Wayne Libby; and her niece- April Cochrane.
Faye is survived by her husband- Fredrick Barton; their children- Tammy Levesque and her husband Roger, Steve Barton and his wife Candy, Kelly McDonald, Scott Barton and his wife Tia, and Julie Cotton and her husband Jim; twenty-one grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters- Rosedna Metcalf and her husband Lyndon, Virginia Sanborn and her husband Rodney, Fern DeWitt; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Faye’s home, 484 Ossipee Trail in Porter on November 19, 2023, at noon. All are welcome to attend.
