David F. Sheward

David F. Sheward, 89, of Anderson, passed away on October 15, 2023 at Primrose of Anderson.
He was born on September 18, 1934 in Anderson, the son of Clarence and Viola (Williamson) Sheward. David was employed by Guide Lamp for 40 years and also enjoyed working the family farm. He served in the Naval Reserves. He was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, Community Hospital and enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors. He attended Madison Park Church of God.
He is survived by his three children; Jerry (Kari) Sheward, Dennis (Julie) Sheward, Kathleen (Andy) Wert; eight grandchildren, Karen Sheward, Kevin Sheward, Sarah Novak Sheward, Christopher Novak Sheward, Bryan Sheward, Lauren Sheward, David Andrew Wert, Molly Ann Wert; four step grandchildren, Jameson, Griffin, Roen and Marley Elbert; and seven great grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Phyllis Jean (Stoner) Sheward in 2006 and his parents.
The family would like to recognize the exceptional care given by Primrose Retirement Community, Home Instead and private caregivers.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service- West End Chapel. Burial to follow at Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 PM until the service at 2 PM.
Memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity.
