Dr. Arthur O. "Doc" Anctil, Jr., 91, of Westport, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon R. Bigelow-Anctil.
Dr. Anctil was born in Fall River, son of the late Arthur O. Anctil, Sr. and the late Aline (Marcoux) Anctil and had been a longtime resident of Westport. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He attained his Medical Degree from Tufts University and worked for many years at Obstetrical Associates, Fall River. He retired from Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River where he was well known for both his medical and administrative abilities. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors along with his wife include his children: Eric Anctil, Nannette Gidjunis, Valerie Anctil and her partner Paul Pritchard, Brandon Bigelow and his wife Christine and Brett Bigelow and his wife Janet; 2 grandchildren: Aiden and Jullien; sister-in-law: Carol-Ann Tripp and her husband Spencer Tripp; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home from 4-7 P.M.
Interment will be private.
