Obituary

Anna Leggiero Capurso, born to Sabatina Leggiero and Michael Leggiero in Dentecane, Italy, on January 22, 1943, was the sixth of seven children. She had three brothers, Jerry Leggiero, Luigi Leggiero, and Silvio DeStefano and three sisters, Maria Leggiero Montone, Pasqualina Leggiero Manzo, and Josepina Leggiero Impellizeri. Anna played a pivotal role in holding the Leggiero family together, becoming a vital link during both the most challenging and joyous moments of their lives.

At the tender age of 18, shortly after her immigration to the United States in 1961, Anna found her soulmate Giovanni Capurso. Despite the physical distance that separated them, with Giovanni still residing in Italy, their love flourished through heartfelt, handwritten letters. Their connection deepened when they exchanged their vows in Dentecane, Italy, on August 10, 1963.

This enduring love not only resulted in a remarkable 60-year marriage but also blessed Anna and Giovanni with three beloved children: Anna Capurso Bramante married to Tory Bramante, Joanna Capurso Mayo married to Nicholas Mayo, and John Capurso married to Kellie Lawler Capurso. Furthermore, this union brought five cherished grandchildren into the world: Isabella Mayo, Nina Bramante, Mia Bramante, Lillyana Mayo, and Giovanni Capurso. Anna's entire life revolved around her family, and her profound love and dedication were evident in every moment spent with them.

Anna was a gifted cook, renowned for her homemade red sauce that became a symbol of warmth and love in her home. She had a passion for entertaining, whether through hosting parties or sharing captivating stories, always ensuring that everyone around her felt welcomed and loved.

Anna's caring and nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren, whom she adored. She eagerly listened to the dramas and gossip of their school days, providing unwavering support and a listening ear. She celebrated their milestones and triumphs with unfaltering devotion. Anna's love knew no bounds; she was all about loving, giving, and caring.

The world was graced with the radiant soul of Anna Capurso, characterized by her boundless love and unwavering strength. Although we will deeply miss her physical presence, her legacy will continue to shine brightly, her love will reach even further, and her strength will inspire each of her children and grandchildren, just as she did during her remarkable life, to continue persisting even through the difficult times. Anna's memory will forever serve as a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and resilience.
