Obituary

Louise N. Chilson (Brideau), 79, of Bellingham and formerly of Franklin died peacefully October 12, 2023 at Milford Regional Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Louise is the daughter of the late Norman and Louise Brideau of Medway. She is survived by her only son, Jim Chilson of Cumberland, RI. She also leaves behind her three siblings, her only brother, William Brideau (sister in law, Lynn) of Franklin and two sisters, Rosemarie Bradshaw (brother in law, Dennis) of Uxbridge and Lisa Smith (brother in law, Jim) of Uxbridge. Louise was also blessed with six nephews; Jack, Paul and Eric Bradshaw and Matthew, Michael and Corey Smith.

Louise grew up in the city of Boston with her brother. Together they would walk on high snowbanks on their way to St. Peter’s Catholic School. Eventually the family moved from the city to the countryside.

Louise graduated from Medway High School and entered the workforce. For five years she worked at Raytheon in Sudbury with her dad. She then was a stay at home mom when she had her son and being a mom was her greatest joy in life. As her son became older, she returned to work at the Milford Franklin Eye Center as the surgical coordinator. Louise had an incredible work ethic and took her job very seriously and rarely missed a day until she became seriously ill with Multiple Myeloma. She continued to work through her chemotherapy treatment even when she should’ve been home resting. Unfortunately, the treatment and illness destroyed her kidneys which required her to be on dialysis three days a week for 16 years. The majority of those years, she continued to work and proudly drove herself to and from dialysis and never once complained.

Louise enjoyed people and always had a smile for everyone. She made you feel like you were the most important person in the room.

Louise also loved to cook and was known for her turkey and roast beef dinners with mashed potatoes and gravy. Her homemade apple pie was the best! The family loved it when she called them over for dinners.

Louise loved being with her family and attended every event and milestone for her son, siblings and her six nephews. She was truly an inspiration to all that met her. She faced all the challenges in her life with strength and the utmost fortitude. She will be tremendously missed by her family. We know she has joined her mom and dad in heaven and will watch over us as one of God’s most cherished angels.

Until we meet again Louise, enjoy all the comforts of heaven that you so richly deserve.

We love you!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 18 from 5 -8 pm. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
