Dina M. (Pieragostini) Garbino, age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Wakefield cared for by her loving family on October 12th. Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Ottavia (Bonini) Pieragostini.
Dina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved the company of her family. Raised in Somerville she graduated from the Little Flower School and Somerville High School. A Medford resident for many years, she also lived in Methuen before settling in recent years in Wakefield. Dina enjoyed a long career with Marshalls at their distribution center. A big Boston Celtics fan, Dina loved watching games with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching westerns on TV. She enjoyed knitting and kept a big collection of teddy bears. Most of all she was proud of her family and especially looked forward to visits from her grandchildren.
The beloved wife of the late Nicholas Garbino, she was a devoted mother to Susan Cranfil, Judy Johnston and her husband Heath, Joseph Garbino and Paula DeJesus and her husband Davi. She leaves eight loving grandchildren and five loving great-grandchildren. Dina is predeceased by her sisters Rose Haynes and Nellie Magliozzi.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, October 16 from 9 – 11 AM with a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
