Charles (Chuck) G Donachy, 77, of Canton, MA, formerly of Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away on Friday, October 06, 2023, surrounded by an amazing care team. Chuck was born in Northumberland, PA on March 08, 1946, to Blanche and George Donachy.
He grew up in Northumberland, PA, with his parents, sister and brother, graduating from Northumberland High School in 1964 as a student leader and team athlete, playing football, baseball, basketball and wrestling. In the years to follow, he also loved to play tennis, racquetball, and golf.
Chuck taught 5th and 6th grade for 43 years in Mt Laurel, NJ at Fleetwood Elementary School and Hartford Middle School, where we believe he influenced well over 1000 students prior to his retiring from that role. To them, he was “Mr. D”.
For such an amazing length of time, he found that being an educator was what he was supposed to do in life – teach and be in the classroom. He loved his students and the people he worked with through the years.
He loved spending time with his family, loved spending time at the beach, and loved to fish, spending countless hours on the Susquehanna River with his dad and children, and continued to enjoy fishing after retirement in new places as far as Texas and Arizona. He was an amazing professional house painter and fine arts painter as well.
In 2019, he moved to Canton, Massachusetts to be closer to his daughters and their families. He continued to live in the Boston area until his final days with us.
Chuck is survived by his three children, Jennifer Judge and her husband Trevor, John Donachy and his wife Stephanie, Patty Barron and her husband Anthony, his sister Kathy MacArthur and husband Dale, his brother Dave Donachy and wife Carol, 4 grandchildren: Riley, Reagan, Aniela and Emiliano, nieces Shannon MacArthur and Leah Donachy, and nephews Damon MacArthur and Matthew Donachy.
Relatives and friends are invited to the graveside service on Monday, October 16th, 2023, with interment to be held at 11am at Northumberland Memorial Park in Northumberland, PA.
