Patricia Ann (Herring) Donald, 72, a longtime resident of both Lowell, Massachusetts and Goldsboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully after a period of declining health at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born on August 2, 1951, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Patricia was the daughter of the late Lillard E. Herring and the late Sarah (Phillips) Herring. Raised and educated in Goldsboro, she worked as a certified nurse's aide for over 30 years, serving at Boston City Hospital and Lowell General Hospital before her recent retirement.
Patricia was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a gifted artist, specializing in drawing and pa ting. She also enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles and was known as the baker of her family. She enjoyed music and dancing and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a fun-loving individual with a hearty laugh that revealed her deep dimples.
More than anything else, she put her family first. She loved and cherished time spent with her family.
Preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Donald, parents Lillard and Sarah, brothers Willie and John, sisters Macie and Sarah, and Grandsons Quinton Elliott and Trindell Thomas. She is survived by daughter Joel and son Joseph (Tracy Leonardo), Grandchildren Justin Herring (Alexis), Michael Thomas, Ryshon McCullen, Joseph Michelin, a host of great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of dear friends.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816.
