Albert C. Grant, age 99, of Mansfield, formerly of Poughquag, New York, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia L. (Cottle) Grant.
Born in Hancock, New York on August 12, 1924, he was a loving son of the late Henry and Mildred (Davis) Grant.
Albert grew up in Hancock, New York and was a graduate of Walton High School. He continued his education, attending Syracuse University and Denver University. During WWII, he proudly served his country for two years as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on May 12, 1946 with the rank of Private First Class.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Grant was employed for many years as an Installer for the Telephone Company. A resident of Mansfield for the past three years, Albert enjoyed bowling, collecting stamps and coins, watching television and had a longtime interest in model trains.
He is survived by his sons: Lawrence A. Grant of Mansfield and Tyler J. Grant of Poughquag, New York. He was the grandfather of Alexander Grant, Russell Grant and Colin Grant.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
