Edward J. Ringwood, Jr.
Retired Massachusetts Corrections Department- Lieutenant Supervisor at MCI Concord
U.S. Marine Corps Veteran

TYNGSBORO: Edward J. Ringwood, Jr., age 75, a resident of Tyngsboro, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at home on September 30, 2023.

Born in Chelsea on August 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Ruth (Fuller) Ringwood.
Ed attended Tewksbury schools and Tewksbury Memorial High School.

In 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War Era. He was awarded several decorations for his active-duty service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Rifle Qualification Badge-Sharpshooter. Following his honorable discharge from active duty, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves retiring in 1988 as Master Sergeant.

Prior to retirement, Ed was employed by the Massachusetts Corrections Department for over 30 years.

Ed enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.

He is survived by two children, Michael Ringwood, of Tyngsborough and Jill Ringwood, of Boston: his grandchildren, Nick, Wes and Corbin Ringwood and their mother Melissa: his great grandson, Raylan James Brent: his brothers, Paul R. Ringwood, of Tewksbury, John I. Ringwood and his wife Maryjane, of Epping, NH: his sister, Linda (Ringwood) Bottis and her husband Richard, of Fountain Valley, CA: his former wife, Nancy Ringwood.

At the request of his family services were held privately. Interment of his ashes was at Tewksbury Cemetery where the Department of Corrections and Marine Corps recognized his service.
