Col Robert J. “Bob” Ballarino 83, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away, peacefully Tuesday October 10, 2023 at Mount St. Rita Healthcare following an illness. He was the husband of Mary N. (Padden) Ballarino, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
Born October 19, 1939, in Boston a son of the late Anthony T. and Dorothy (Stewart) Ballarino, he was a former longtime resident of Franklin until moving to Cumberland.
He was raised and educated in Malden and was the former Vice President & Treasurer of the Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank. He was also the owner of the former Residential Homes.
Bob was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his family and he loved Sunday school and going to the movies and weekly lunches with his friends.
He was a proud member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts division, out of Faneuil Hall.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary, his daughter, Janine Ballarino of Framingham, Ma, his son, Christopher and his wife Lisa of Bellingham, his son, Mark, and his wife, Trisha, of Franklin, his son, Adam and his wife Shelley of Dallas, Texas and son, Jeremy and his wife Jacqueline of Franklin
He was pre-deceased by his daughters Jennifer Ballarino, Justine Donovan and his son, Gregory Ballarino. He was the brother of the late Thomas Ballarino & Barbara Snow.
He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday Oct. 17th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.
Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Calling hours are Monday Oct. 16th, from 4-8PM.
