Obituary

East Bridgewater- Lewis I. "Lew" Owen, 72, of East Bridgewater died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at baypointe Nursing Home in Brockton. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Craig) Owen.

Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a 1952 graduate of Stoughton High School.

He attended the New England Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Owen was part owner of South Eastern Engineering, a land surveying company.

He worked most of his career for the Federal Aviation Administration, as a designated pilot examiner, retiring two years ago.

Mr. Owen held his pilot's license since he was a teenager and was a certified flight instructor as well.

He served the Lord as a Deacon at the Trinity Covenant Church in Bridgewater, where he was a member for many years.

Mr. Owen had his own radio show on WPET in Taunton and he was a singer in the Christian Contemporary band, "His Band Called Exodus."

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Anne Langille and her husband Blake of Plymouth; a grandson, Elijah Owen of Plymouth; a brother and sister, David Owen of New Portland, Maine, and Isabel Owen. He was also father of the late David Craig Owen and brother of the late John Owen.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am in the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 pm.
