On Saturday, September 30th 2023, Mae Marie Speer of Ventura peacefully passed away at age 92. Mae was born on August 29th 1931 in Tortilla Flats, Ventura, Ca. to Victor and Nellie Lorenzana. Mae spent most of her years living in Ventura and lived in San Francisco for several years before returning to Ventura. In 1951, Mae married Louis Speer Jr and became the mother of 9 children. Mae worked for Ventura County Medical Center for 25 years. Mae was a strong woman who loved and protected her family. There was never a time our mom or grandma wasn't there for us.
Mae will be laid to rest with her parents Victor and Nellie Lorenzana, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. (husband) Louis Speer Jr. (sons) Louis, baby, Stanley, and Eddy Speer. Nephew Billie Barrios, (grandsons) Jojo Barron and David Speer, (great grandkids) Jose Guevara IV, Elena Guevara, and Niner.
Mae is survived by (daughters) Linda Patton, Shirley Pina, Rita Guevara, Debbie Maciel (sons) William Speer and Danny Speer, 11 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, 3 great-great grandkids, and sister Evelyn Arellanes. Mae will be dearly missed. Never forgotten or replaced.
Family and friends are invited and welcomed to visit Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm, October 11th. Rosary will be held at 6 pm at JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE in Ventura. Mass will be Thursday, October 12th at 9:30 am at Mission Basilica of San Buenaventura. Mae will be laid to rest at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura, Ca.
