Lena Eva (Fazzi) Howes, 93, a longtime resident of Medway died Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at the Medway Country Manor. She was the beloved wife of Ralph L. Howes who died in 2016.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Urbano and Lena (Cardi) Fazzi.
Lena earned a degree in nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Medfield State Hospital for over 30 years, until her retirement.
Lena loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
She is survived by her son Michael Carbary of Medway and was the mother of the late Linda Davis and James Carbary.
She is also survived by her son-in-law Ross Davis of Maine, daughter-in-law Debra Carbary of Hopedale and seven grandchildren, Meredith Carbary, Stacey Carbary, Nicole Brockman and her husband Mathew, Michael Carbary and his wife Deanna, Christine Carbary and her fiancé Chase Hoffman, Katie Carbary and James Carbary and his wife Nicole.
Lena is also survived by nine great-grandchildren- Zachary, Kessa and Max Benner, Faith, Ethan and Aiden Brockman, Jordane and Liliana Carbary, and the deceased Brad Davis. Lena had one great-great-grandson Matthew, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Angie and brothers Joseph and Luigi Fazzi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, October 14 from 9 - 11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway (ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.
