Charles P. “Charlie” Tringale, Jr., of Medford, passed away on Sunday, October 8th. He was 79. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, he was the cherished son of the late Charles P. and Christine (Farley) Tringale. Charlie had a successful career as a police officer for the City of Medford from 1968 to1983. He was the first K9 officer in the city. Charlie was dedicated to his fellow patrolmen and later became the president of the Patrolman’s Association. While working full time Charlie enrolled at North Eastern College and graduated with a Master’s in Criminology.
Charlie was an avid New England sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Patriots and Bruins play. Charlie also took frequent trips to Saratoga to watch the horse’s race. An avid outdoorsman, Charlie took his sons camping, hunting and fishing. He was also a competitive weight lifter, and was proud of his Italian heritage.
Charlie was the devoted father of Charles, Stephen, Jada and Matthew Tringale. He was the loving Papa of Tatiyhana, Thalia, Jarda and the late Amiya. Charlie was the former husband and best friend of Sandra (Cantone) Tringale.
Honoring the wishes of Charlie’s family, all services will be held privately.
