John W. Dupray, 79, of Salem, NH, passed away Saturday October 7, 2023, in Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. John was born on June 24, 1944, in Dover, NH, a son of the late Loraine and Ruth (Karpitch) Dupray. He had been a resident of Salem, NH for the past 1.5 years, formerly living in Milton, FL.
John was in the US Air Force, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton, FL. While he was there, he repaired fighter jets & guarded the gulf coast with walls of beer cans during his enlisted time. He did sign up to go to Nam. He is thankful he did not go. After his enlisted time, he became a plumber & knew enough about wiring due to being in the service. He became an avid “Do it your selfer” helping out friends, family & neighbors with various needs. John did travel the world selling DEC & IBM system traveling to Australia, New Zealand, China for various trade shows / sales appointments.
John is survived by his wife Maureen (Dupuis) Dupray of Florida; two sons, Matthew John Dupray and his wife Morgan of Salem, and Eric Keith Dupray of Stockton Springs, ME; one grandchild; and one sister, Janet Goldstein of Newburg, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, with cremation to follow. A Celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Matthew & Morgan Dupray’s home, 4 Glencrest Drive, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA as John was an avid animal lover.
