Phyllis M (Sarno) Gallo, age 87, of Medford and formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away at home peacefully on Monday, October 2nd in the company of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina (Mastrullo) Sarno.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Phyllis later went on to settle in Medford, after marrying her husband, Tony. She worked diligently for 54 years as an administrator for Cohen and Havian, an accounting firm in Boston. She loved to cook and host her family and friends, especially for the Holidays. She deeply loved her grandchildren and was always delighted to be able to catch up with friends.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Anthony M. Gallo. She was the devoted mother of Ann Marie Gallo, of Medford, and Joseph Gallo, of Salem. She was the loving grandmother of Anthony and Michael Gallo. She was the dear sister of Marino Sarno and his surviving wife Josephine. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Phyllis’ funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, October 12th at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston, MA. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 11th from 4-8PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
