Dora P. (Fasano) LoConte passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Melrose – Wakefield Hospital on Thursday, October 5th. She was 94. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Carpinelli) Fasano. A Medford resident for most of her life, Dora was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved living in Medford and for over 30 years proudly served the municipal employees of Medford as the bookkeeper of the Retirement Board. Popular among her co-workers and people in the community, she was affectionately known as Dora from City Hall. Dora really looked forward to time at home with family and friends. She was truly energized to cook wonderful meals and especially put on big feeds during the holidays. She was famous for doing word search puzzles and was a big fan of TV game shows. Though not a gambler by nature, in her later years she enjoyed taking a trip to the casino with her family or friends to enjoy a day together and have some fun at the games.
Dora was a devoted and loving mother to Michael A. LoConte and his wife Victoria of Medford, Doreen Porcella and her husband Mark of New Jersey, Anthony LoConte of Medford and the late Joseph F. LoConte. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole LoConte and Melissa Porcella, and a loving great-grandmother to Juliana Burgos. Dora was a dear sister to the late Gennaro Fasano and Mary Gulino.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, Monday October 9th at 11:30 AM followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Dora's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
