Carol Elizabeth (Deery) Farren, 83, of North Falmouth, formerly of Westwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Carol was born to the late Hugh and Elizabeth Deery and raised in Jamaica Plain, MA. She attended Blessed Sacrament School. After completing school she worked for the Boston Gas Company for over 10 years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Edward, to whom she was married for 46 years. Beloved mother of five children; daughter Denise Foss and husband David of North Falmouth; daughter Kristine Guindon and husband Robert of Medfield; son Edward Jr. and wife Amanda of Westwood; son Steven and wife Edythe of Bangor, ME; and son Timothy of Falmouth. She was also the adoring “Mimi” to nine grandchildren: Taylor, Matthew, Alexis, Rachel, Jake, Beau, Caroline, Miles and Travis. She was also the sister of Joseph Deery and Patricia Mullaly, as well as the late John Deery, Paul Deery, and Nancy Magee.
Carol was above all devoted to her family. She was a loving wife and mother of five children whom she raised in Westwood, and spent summers in Falmouth, MA. She enjoyed Saturday cookouts with her children and grandchildren, and a good margarita (no salt). As a retiree she enjoyed spending winters in Pompano Beach, FL, recognizing a life-long dream of escaping New England winters.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 9:30-10:00 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington Street in Westwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 o’clock. Interment will immediately follow at the New Westwood Cemetery.
