Waltraud G. “Trudy” (Boras) Bierbaum, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, age 86, formerly a long-time resident of East Bridgewater, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Baypointe Skilled Nursing Center in Brockton, after a period of failing health.
Born in Hammer, Germany, she moved to the United States in 1956, along with her husband and her daughter Brigitte.
She worked as a CNA for many years at nursing home facilities, working the night shift.
She enjoyed music, gardening, animals, swimming at the beach and especially shopping, particularly at her favorite store, TJ Maxx, along with her dear friend Gerda Knotts. She adored her children, grandson, and her family in Germany.
Since 1972, Trudy has been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed sharing with people God's promises, which include that the Creator of life will bring back the dead by means of a resurrection. She will be fondly remembered by her friends in the Bridgewater congregation.
Trudy leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Michael Bierbaum, as well as her sons, Peter Bierbaum and partner, Gail Robinson of Bridgewater, George Bierbaum and partner Marge Parker of New Hampshire, her daughter Karen Rogers and her husband Thomas of East Bridgewater, and her grandson Jason Hammel, of East Bridgewater. Also, her brother Harry Boras and his wife Herta of Stuttgart, Germany and her sister Karin Mosbrucker and husband Andreas of Rheinberg, Germany, as well as a niece and several nephews.
She is predeceased by her three children, Brigitte, Fred and Christine Bierbaum and her brother, Günter Boras.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 4-7 PM, with a memorial service at 6:30 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Trudy’s honor may be made to Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care or the American Heart Association
