Sadly, Ed (Edwin M.) Rogers passed away on October 3. While visiting family in Massachusetts, he took ill and was hospitalized. He was 75 years old when he succumbed to heart disease.
Ed was residing in Florida with his wife, Yvonne. While living in Florida, he worked at Disney, Universal Studios, and most recently Sea World. These were perfect jobs for Ed as he loved talking with people and could carry on a conversation on most any topic.
He was raised in South Boston, and never forgot his Southie friends. Ed maintained relationships with his many Southie friends and his family through social media.
Ed was predeceased by his son Edzo (Edwin Rogers), brother Tommy Rogers, and his parents Ellen and Edwin Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, and four additional children, Melissa, Keri-Anne Alger (husband Joe), Kimberly, and Sean, and the mother of his children Terry. Ed also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Devin Donnelly, Michael, Kailee, Joseph, and Alyssa Alger, along with Mariah and Thomas Rogers and Jazmyn.
Ed was the oldest of six children. He is survived by four siblings and their spouses, Joseph and Diane Rogers, Jack Rogers, Bill and Judy Rogers, and Mary Ellen Medeiros and Brent Kierstead, and numerous nieces and nephews and two aunts Betty Anne Ford and Stella Rogers.
Visiting hours will be held at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Monday, October 9th, 2023 from 4 to 7pm. Interment services will be private.
