CHERRY VALLEY-Geraldine M. “Gerry” (O’Connor) Tracy, 81, of Cherry Valley and Brewster, died Saturday, June 24th, in her summer home. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Charles F. Tracy; a son, Michael C. Tracy of Fort Worth, TX; a daughter, Kathleen A., wife of Stephen Nicolle of Nantucket; 2 grandchildren, Kristen Boland and Hannah Nicolle; 2 great grandchildren, Keala and Julia Boland and nephews and nieces. 4 sisters and 2 brothers, Katherine McNulty, Margaret Melican, Helen Morrissey, Elizabeth Loftus, and John and Thomas O’Connor predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John and Margaret (McGuiness) O’Connor and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Tracy had been employed at Thom McAn Shoe Company for 17 years, first as a clerk, and then as an auditor. After retiring, she was an administrative assistant at the Seascape Camp for Girls and also worked for the Town of Brewster, distributing Beach and Landfill stickers for 5 years during the summer season. She was a member of St. Joseph’s church and a communicant of Our Lady of the Cape Church, Brewster.
The funeral is Wednesday, June 28th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 27th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
