Eleanor J. (Davis) Gilbert, 94 of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, October 4th in UMass Memorial Hospital – University Campus. She leaves her daughter, Linda D. Sullivan and her husband, Mark of Easton; her son, Gary R. Gilbert and his wife, Lori of Danielson, CT; six grandchildren, Kimberly Tasney and her husband, Kenny, Michael Gilbert, Caitlyn Lumb and her husband, Dan, Dylan Peloquin, Connor Sullivan and Kelsey Sullivan; and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Russell W. Gilbert who died in 2018; her grandson, Kyle Gilbert; and her brother, Leroy Davis.
She was born in Lincoln, VT the daughter of Roy H. Davis and Mary C. (Loven) Davis. Eleanor was formerly a hairdresser then did cosmetology work at Lincoln Pharmacy and CVS. Her and Russell were together 70 years and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with the support of their children. She enjoyed trips to the Cape with her family, spending time in the garden, and writing poems. Most of all, Eleanor loved spending time with her son, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 8th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
