MARGARET MARY DOHERTY (MORGAN), CRNA, 81
Died June 25, 2023 in Austin, TX, where she lived with and was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Beth Gwazdosky. “Peggy" was formerly of Waterville, ME, Redondo Beach, CA, Burlington, Plymouth, North Andover, Lowell, and Roxbury (Mission Hill) MA. She is also survived by her daughter Pamela Lichtenthal (Gwazdosky) and her husband Claudio of Frisco, CO, her sister Barbara Theberge (Morgan) and her husband Paul of Haverhill, MA, brother William Morgan and his wife Beth of Arlington, MA. Other survivors are niece Saleha Walsh (Asar) of Andover, MA, nephew Kamal Asar and his partner Carol Potter of Haverhill, MA, niece Patricia West (Loughman), her husband Michael of Westwood, MA, and nephew Joseph Loughman of Westwood, MA. Peggy was predeceased by her sisters, Janet Loughman (Morgan) and her husband Joseph, of Westwood, MA, Jean Krug (Morgan) and her husband Barrie and son Erick of Dedham, MA, and stepsister Lydia Muxworthy of Keller, TX. After graduating from Mission High School in Roxbury, MA, she then graduated from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Manchester, NH in the early 1960s. While raising two children and working full time, Peggy finished a program at the Carney Hospital in Boston, MA and was certified as a registered nurse anesthetist in the mid 1970s. Most of her practice as a CRNA was at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in California, a position at which she excelled and loved. She touched many people’s lives and comforted them through difficult times as a Nurse and then as a Nurse Anesthetist. She enjoyed politics and was an active member of the League of Women Voters. The many friends she made through life will remember her as beautiful, gregarious, compassionate, capable and very quick witted. Although Peggy suffered many setbacks, she persevered and learned how to make lemonade out of lemons. Services are private but those wishing to attend a memorial luncheon on Monday, October 16, 2023 (which would have been Peg's 82nd birthday) please join us at 1:00 p.m. at West on Centre, 1732 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA.
