Donna Marie (Angove) Maker, 71, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away on Monday, October 2 after a long battle with cancer with her family by her side at Sutton Hill Center in North Andover. She was the beloved wife of Donald Maker, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.
She was born on August 11, 1952 in Lowell and was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. Angove and the late Lillian D. (O'Neill) Angove. She was raised and educated in Lowell, growing up on Washington Street before eventually relocating to her lifelong home in South Lowell.
Donna dedicated her entire life to helping others, especially children. Affectionately known as "Nanny" she worked as a daycare provider out of her home in South Lowell with CTI. Her career spanned over 40 years and she took care of hundreds of children over that time.
Donna enjoyed camping, especially at Lake Dean in Oakham. She also enjoyed the simple things in life, such as sitting on her porch watching TV with her coffee and cigarette.
She is survived by her 2 children, Donald Maker, Jr. of Rhode Island and Charles Maker and his wife, Jill, of Townsend; her grandchildren, Amanda, Miles, Ryanna, Nathaniel and his wife Taylor, Richard, Amber, Helen, Lily and her great grandchildren, Jessie, Nevaeh, Maddox, Nathaniel Jr. and Elaina. She was one of many Angove siblings that both survive her and she was predeceased by.
She was also the mother of the late Jess Maker.

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 10 a.m.-12 noon at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816. Following the calling hours, at approximately 12 p.m. a procession will form for her funeral service and burial which will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
